Since charley's crossword thread is currently residing in one of the gaps between pages...
|
... I thought I'd post this clue here
Scatter articles of Spanish novelist (4, 10)
as I like it a lot.

I agree - scatter is the proper direction so maybe a clue accessible to my feeble mind would have been
"Scatter the author with Spanish articles"

It’s not a false clue.
As others have said, Scatter is the clue.
Scatter = Ella Fitzgerald
El-la = the Spanish articles Fitzgerald = novelist

The last post on the Crossword thread was end of January, would that be right? I can just post on it and resurrect it hopefully?

The Spanish novelist is a false clue, and bad grammar to boot.

Norway......Well, presumably the Fitzgerald comes from F. Scott.......and the real clue is 'scatter' as Ella was famous for her scat singing.

A friend gave me the answer and I can see the first bit, but not the second. First name is EL-LA, Ella and that’s the Spanish articles. The second name was Fitzgerald and I have no idea how that fits the clue and he won’t tell me.

Driving well doesn't stop other people driving poorly. Not driving at all doesn't mean you can't criticise poor driving either. Just fucking drive properly.

How about posting something to do with West Ham, instead of moaning about other people, as cover for never doing so?

What does this have to do with West Ham?
There is a reason a thread dedicated to fucking crosswords isn't popular enough to make the front page.
